The press release from Satlantis, LLC, dated April 8, 2024, heralds the announcement of one of the largest commercial contracts for satellite-based methane detection. This milestone agreement encompasses a comprehensive collaboration between Satlantis and Encino Environmental Services, aimed at deploying cutting-edge satellite technology for enhanced methane leak detection and quantification.  Click here to read the full press release.

The key highlights from the press release include:

  1. **Commercial Contract for Satellite-Based Methane Detection**: The partnership between Satlantis and Encino has resulted in the acquisition of exclusive rights by Encino to data from Satlantis’ GEISAT-Precursor (“GEISAT”) satellite. This strategic move enables Encino to monitor customer assets across various sectors, including oil & gas, biogas, landfills, and power infrastructure, utilizing high-resolution visual imagery and methane emission detection capabilities.
  2. **Successful Launch of Second Methane Satellite – HORACIO**: The press release also celebrates the successful launch of Satlantis’ second methane satellite, named HORACIO. This achievement marks a significant milestone in advancing satellite technology specifically tailored for methane detection, contributing to more accurate emissions reporting and environmental stewardship efforts.
  3. 3. **Technological Advancements for Enhanced Environmental Monitoring**: Satlantis’ state-of-the-art satellite technology, including the iSIM-90 camera with exceptional spatial resolution, offers unparalleled capabilities in detecting methane emissions, surveilling critical infrastructure, and ensuring regulatory compliance with precision and efficiency.
